For unfinished furniture:

• 1. Prepare Surface For BRIWAX
  1. a) Using fine sandpaper (150 grit) lightly over the wood to remove the top layer of wood fibers that have become bruised and/or dirty.
  2. b) Apply stains according to manufacturers instructions. Allow to dry the recommended time. This is very important as BRIWAX applied too soon will tend to lift the oil stain.
  3. c) Apply BRIWAX Sanding Wood Sealer with rag. Allow to dry 30 minutes plus. This will result in an increased hardness and shine to the BRIWAX paste wax finish. This will also prevent the BRIWAX from being absorbed into the wood, eliminating 2 - 3 applications of BRIWAX to satisfactorily seal the surface and give that nice BRIWAX luster.
     1. (*This Is an optional step depending if you want to stain or not.)

• 2. Work BRIWAX Thoroughly into The Grain. Apply a liberal amount of BRIWAX with #0000 fine oil free steel wool. Always present a clean portion of the wool pad to the working area. Clogged pads should be replaced as soon as noticed.

  Heat from the friction of application is the secret ingredient to the rich deep luster of a BRIWAX finish. Use a side-to-side motion from the wrist while working BRIWAX in the direction of the grain. BRIWAX blends and never leaves a lap line, so you may stop and start as you like.

   

• 3. Buff to desired luster with a clean lint free cloth. BRIWAX should be allowed to dry 10 - 15 minutes (or longer) before buffing so that the solvent has evaporated off. Scuffs or spots can be corrected with a soft cloth moistened with fresh BRIWAX.
