The 16 pad steel wool poly-pack delivers the right amount of product for the project minded do-it-yourselfer and professional tradesman. Available in 8 grades, from Extra Coarse (#4) for heavy-duty stripping to Super Fine (#0000) for polishing, including wax polishing. There is a grade for every need.

Steel Wool is a staple for many household tasks. Rhodes American Steel Wool is the choice of professionals and do-it-yourselfers for wood finishing projects, as well as for cleaning, polishing and refinishing. Color-coded packaging and a grade indicator chart help to quickly identify the proper grade for any project. No other manufacturer makes it so simple.

A "4" inch wide continuous ribbon of steel wool, wound on a hollow fiber core for ease of use, makes economical pads for a large variety of industrial, professional, and maintenance applications. Also, ideal for making your own hand or floor pads for stripping or polishing floors.

Gentle Abrasiveness - The wire shaving process produces fibers that have geometric cross sections. The result is that each metal wool fiber has several long, sharp cutting edges. Unlike sandpaper and other grit-based abrasives that scratch away material with sharp points, metal wool fibers perform like thousands of microscopic scrapers or planes on a surface. The result is a smoother surface after sanding and a better result after finishing Fine metal wools are even used to clean glass and polish fine wood articles.

Grades of steel wool are similar to grit in sandpaper. The finest steel wool is grade 0000 or 4/0. The coarsest steel wool is grade #4. Refer to our extensive grade selection table to find the grade that suits your individual application.

  • Briwax International Inc of Texas was owned by Bollom of the UK prior to 2008.
  • Control and / or ownership of Briwax International Inc US was passed on under a separate negotiation with the Bollom liquidators, conducted exclusivly in the UK, at a later date following the sale of the prized US intellectual property, Briwax, to Blink Visual.
  • The US Intellectual property and the later sale of the US importer Briwax International Inc US were sold off by the UK liquidators exclusivly in the UK without notice to US parties with a fiduciary interest or business interest.
  • Briwax International Inc of the US was liquidated in the UK, for the insignificant sum of approximately $2,400.00.
